Glossary Term you need to know

You may read if you find it’s hard to understand the world setting. It is the same for any novel, only different slightly in Cultivation stage’s name and few other things. Even if you don’t read this, you still can read Fairy Xia Yu just fine.

Lower Realm : Earthly Martial Warrior > Earthly Martial Knight > Earthly Martial General > Earthly Martial King > Earthly Martial Emperor > Earthly Martial Supreme > Earthly Martial Saint

Middle Realm : Heavenly Martial Warrior > Heavenly Martial Knight > Heavenly Martial General > Heavenly Martial King > Heavenly Martial Emperor > Heavenly Martial Supreme > Heavenly Martial Saint

Upper Realm : Immortal > Celestial > God

Immortal’s rank = 1st- 8th star

Celestial’s rank = 1st – 8th star

Lower realm doesn’t have spiritual energy as pure as middle realm therefore it is harder for the cultivator to advance in rank compare to the people who are born in middle realm.

Lower realm has Celestial cultivators chosen by God [myth] that maintained the balance in the lower realm. Anyone that is too strong will be sent to the middle realm through the trial gate. Unless the God decided that the cultivator stay, no one that is strong is allowed to stay in lower realm.

Those that go to middle realm can go to lower realm once an eclipse. They cannot stay for too long. The Celestial will tell them to return through the trial gate. Anyone that cannot pass through the gate will stay.

Middle realm cannot put their nose into lower realm business no matter what.

While all heavenly martial cultivator from the lower realm have to go to the middle realm, the earthly martial cultivator doesn’t necessarily has to go to the lower realm.

Medicinal plant – Used to concoct pill or elixir. Differ by rank. From lowest to highest: 1 year, 10 year, 100 year, 500 year, 1000 year, 8000 year, 10 000 year, 100 000 year, 1 000 000 year, 8 000 000 year[myth].

Beast core – essential to concoct pill or elixir. Differ by rank depended on the beast’s cultivation stage.

Beast cultivation stage – Beasts are animals capable of cultivation. Some are innately magical and simply grow stronger over time, while others must actively practice a cultivation method

1 year, 10 year, 100 year, 1000 year, 5000 year, 10 000 year, 100 000 year, 1 000 000 year [possessed intelligence], 10 000 000 year [can talk], 20 000 000 year [can transform into human], 50 000 000 year[myth].

Devil core – for cultivation purpose. Differ by rank depended on the devil cultivation stage. Depend on what type of body and element the cultivator possessed, the devil core can speed up their cultivation speed or even advance in rank. Also useful for strengthening the element the cultivator possessed.

Cultivation – the process of gathering qi using specific method learn from manual or taught by other cultivator. Purpose; improving health, increasing longevity, and growing powerful. The ultimate goal of cultivation is to become an or attain godhood.

Cultivation Base – the amount and capacity of refined Qi possessed by a cultivator.

Dantian – ‘Sea of qi’ or simply ‘energy center’. Dantian are the Qi Focus Flow Centers, important focal points for meditative and exercise techniques such as qigong. It is located in your lower belly, and it is the natural center for your body’s energy.

Cultivator’s core – The path of cultivation eventually requires Cultivators to forge a Core within their lower by using the dantian as a crucible and their as raw material. This process is often called Core Formation. It is a difficult and advanced stage of cultivation, and only small minorities of Cultivators are able to succeed.

Also, the core is what differentiates the cultivator’s element, cultivator’s strength and cultivation speed.

This is markedly different from the Beasts. Even very weak Beasts are often said to possess (low-quality) Cores, and it may be the case that Beasts are simply born with them. Keep this in mind.

Impurities – usually described as a smelly, black substance which is secreted from a cultivator’s skin when they reach new cultivation stages or consume special medicinal pills. The result of the body purifying itself and expelling the waste.
